This *EXTREMELY SCARCE* 1927 PGA Championship Gold Medal was awarded to Walter Hagen (December 21, 1892 - October 6, 1969).  Hagen won the PGA Championship a record-tying five times (1921, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927), the U.S. Open twice (1914, 1919), and in 1922 he became the first native-born American to win the British Open four-times (1922, 1924, 1928, 1929).  He also won the Western Open five times (1916, 1921, 1926, 1927, 1932), totaled 45 PGA wins in his career, and was a six-time Ryder Cup captain for the United States. Walter Hagen was been inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.  Medal is approximately 2" in diameter, weighs 5.8 ounces, and has a .20 carat solitaire diamond.
